If you fall within the pre-requisites then please complete and submit an Application Form. If your access to the Internet and this website is limited then our office may be contacted for hard copy application forms that can be forwarded and returned by facsimile or Australia Post. You will receive a confirmation telephone call to discuss your potential claim. Any non-routine action required by you will be canvassed at that time.

You will receive a legal retainer and relevant documentation to sign which enables McCowans Solicitors to represent you.

You will be required to attend medical practitioners nominated by McCowans Solicitors in order to assess your injuries and/or psychological trauma.

You may be required to attend a further doctor/psychiatrist as nominated by WorkCover to be assessed for their purposes.

You may be required to provide McCowans Solicitors with any relevant requested documentation lawfully available. (ie. available per QPS policy guidelines)

You may be contacted periodically by McCowans Solicitors' staff with requests for further information or documentation should the need arise.

You will be advised of any resulting Criminal Compensation application hearing date. (Extremely unlikely you be required to attend).

You will be advised of the outcome of any hearing date.

Once compensation has been successfully obtained on your behalf we will contact you for instructions regarding payment of our fees and subsequent compensation payment to you. |
